Fantasy cricket turns every run, wicket and catch into points. The trouble is that each fantasy app uses its own scoring system, and they change between seasons. This calculator is built around that reality: enter a player's batting, bowling and fielding numbers, then edit every scoring rule to match your app. You get the total and a breakdown by discipline, with captain and vice-captain multipliers.
How to use the fantasy cricket points calculator
- Fill in the batting numbers: runs, fours, sixes and whether the player was out for a duck.
- Fill in the bowling numbers: wickets, how many of those were LBW or bowled, and maiden overs.
- Fill in the fielding numbers: catches, stumpings and run-outs.
- Check the scoring rules section. The defaults are a sample CricketSky T20 system; replace them with the values from your fantasy app's "points system" page.
- Pick a captain or vice-captain multiplier if needed, and read the total and breakdown.
How the total is calculated
Batting = Runs × per-run + Fours × four bonus + Sixes × six bonus + Milestone bonus + Duck penalty
Bowling = Wickets × per-wicket + LBW/bowled × bonus + Maidens × per-maiden
Fielding = Catches × per-catch + Stumpings × per-stumping + Run-outs × per-run-out
Total = (Batting + Bowling + Fielding) × Multiplier
In this calculator a century earns the century bonus only, not the fifty bonus as well, and the duck penalty applies only if the player was dismissed for 0. If your app stacks milestone bonuses, add them together in the century field.
Worked example (sample scoring)
All-rounder: 54 runs and 1 wicket
- Batting
- 54 + 5 + 4 + 8 (fifty) = 71
- Bowling
- 25 + 8 (LBW bonus) = 33
- Fielding
- 8
- Total
- 112 (224 as captain)
A captain choice doubles everything. Picking the right captain usually matters more than any single other pick.
What earns the most fantasy points?
Under most T20 systems, a wicket is worth far more than a run (often 20 to 25 points versus 1), so wicket-taking bowlers and all-rounders are valuable picks. Boundaries and milestones add up quickly for top-order batters. Fielding points are less predictable, but wicketkeepers get regular chances with catches and stumpings.
Many apps also reward economy rate and strike rate bands, and some give points for dot balls. If yours does, add those points to the relevant total by hand, or treat them as part of the milestone bonus. Our economy rate and dot ball percentage calculators help you check those figures.
Using the calculator to pick a team
- Compare players fairly. Score two candidates' recent innings with the same rules to see who would have earned more.
- Plan your captain. Apply the 2x multiplier to the most likely high scorer.
- Check after the match. If your app's total looks wrong, enter the scorecard here with the app's rules to check it.
- Read the conditions. Pitch and venue history change who scores points. CricketSky's cricket grounds pages show averages and top performers at each ground.
A note on fairness and responsible play
These calculators are for analysis and fun. Fantasy contests that involve money are regulated differently in different countries and states, and age and location restrictions apply. Always read your app's terms and play responsibly.
Common mistakes
- Using another app's points. Rules differ widely, so always copy your own app's values.
- Counting run-outs as wickets. Run-outs are fielding points, not bowler wickets.
- Applying the duck penalty to bowlers who did not bat. A duck requires the player to be dismissed for 0.
