Abhishek became the fastest player to score 2000 runs in international cricket. Team India is currently playing the 3rd T20 against West Indies in Indore. He scored 69 off 30 balls today at a strike rate of 230.00. In this innings, he hammered 6 fours and 5 sixes.
Abhishek put on a 108-run partnership with Ishan Kishan. The star indian opener produced his half-century in just 18 balls today. He faced pace and spin with confidence. His excellent innings played a key role in reaching 223 and set a target for the visiting team to chase 224. In the previous game, West Indies chased down 250. Shai Hope played match winning innings in that game.
Now all eyes are on the Indian bowlers to defend this total. If dew comes, it may become difficult for the bowlers to bowl in the righ areas. India will surely look to win the game, lead the series 2-1, and challenge the dew. After this game, India will play the 4th T20 at Hyderabad on October 14, followed by the 5th T20 at the garden city of India, Bengaluru, on October 17.
Abhishek achieved 2000 runs in 1024 balls in his international career. Suryakumar Yadav was the 2nd player to earn this record in 1,164 balls. The left-handed batter made his debut in T20 for India in July 2024 against Zimbabwe. After making his debut for India, he has been scoring runs consistently. Last year in 2025, the young Indian batter made 314 runs in 7 games in the Asia Cup in Dubai. He was named player of the tournament in this competition. Till the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, it was not good for him according to expectations, but on the big stage like the final, he stepped up with his quickfire 52 off just 21 deliveries at a strike rate of 247.61 against New Zealand in Ahmedabad this year.
