Australia vs Pakistan Head to Head in T20I Cricket
Australia and Pakistan have met 31 times in T20 Internationals, the first in 2007 and the latest on 1 February 2026. Pakistan have won 16 and Australia 14, with 1 ending without a result. Pakistan lead by 2. Australia's highest total against Pakistan is 197 and Pakistan's is 207. Their lowest completed totals are 89 and 64. Dates, venues and margins for all of them are in the table above. Updated 9 September, 2026.
The Wanderers, 18 September 2007, first World T20: Pakistan chasing 165 and getting there by six wickets with five balls to spare. It has stayed close ever since, and unusually for a rivalry of this length neither side has ever built a lead worth calling one. Pakistan's strongest run came in 2018, when they won five of six across series in Zimbabwe and the UAE and dismissed Australia for 89 at Abu Dhabi in October.
They produced one of the format's better World Cup nights at Dubai on 11 November 2021, in the semi-final. Pakistan, unbeaten to that point, made 176 for 4; Australia were 96 for 5 in the 13th over before Matthew Wade hit three consecutive sixes off Shaheen Shah Afridi and finished the chase with an over to spare, then went on to win the final. Nine years earlier, at the same ground, the sides had tied at 151 and Pakistan had taken the Super Over.
The recent record has swung hard between home summers. Australia won all three at home in November 2024, restricting Pakistan to 64 for 9 in a rain-shortened game at Brisbane - the lowest total the fixture has seen. Pakistan answered at Lahore in early 2026 with wins by 22 runs, 90 runs and then 111, the last built on 207 for 6 and finished by bowling Australia out for 96.
