After the Test Series, Team India is now playing a 3-match ODI series against South Africa. The first ODI was played at Ranchi on November 30. South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first. India scored 349/8 in the first innings. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli set the tone nicely in the match with their 136-run partnership.
Rohit Sharma smashed 57, and Virat Kohli scored 135 runs. He also achieved the record of scoring the 52nd hundred in ODI cricket and showed the world why he is known as the “king of cricket.”
At the end of the inning, KL Rahul claimed 60 runs. In reply, the Proteas lost early wickets in the powerplay, but they tried hard to chase the target, but could not cross the line. India won the match by 17 runs and leads the series 1-0.
Virat Kohli was nominated as the player of the game for his century. In this excellent knock, Kohli hammered seven sixes and 11 fours. The 2nd ODI will be played at Raipur on December 3, followed by the 3rd ODI at Vizag on December 6.
