Afghanistan vs Bangladesh Head to Head in T20I Cricket

Afghanistan and Bangladesh have played 16 T20 International matches, the first in 2014 and the latest on 5 October 2025. Bangladesh lead 9-7. Afghanistan's best total here is 167, Bangladesh's 157. At the other end of the scale, 72 and 105. Every meeting, with venue and margin, is in the table above. Updated 9 September, 2026.

The first meeting, at Mirpur in the 2014 World T20, was chastening - Afghanistan bowled out for 72 and beaten by nine wickets with eight overs to spare. Four years later at Dehra Dun they swept the three-match series, Rashid Khan taking 4 for 12 in the opener and the third going Afghanistan's way by a single run.

The biggest of them came at Arnos Vale in Kingstown on 25 June 2024. Bangladesh needed a quick chase of 116 to reach the T20 World Cup semi-finals; Afghanistan bowled them out for 105 and won by eight runs on DLS, going through themselves and knocking Australia out on the same night. Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid shared the wickets in near-darkness and heavy rain.

Bangladesh have had the better of the exchanges since, taking all three in Sharjah in October 2025 by two, four and six wickets - none of them comfortable.
