Two Tests, two enormous margins, one each way. Chattogram in September 2019 was Afghanistan's, and it was only the third Test they had ever played. Rashid Khan captained, took 6 for 49 and 5 for 55, and added a half-century; Rahmat Shah made 102, the first Test hundred by an Afghanistan batter. They won by 224 runs.
Mirpur in June 2023 was the reply, and it was severe. Najmul Hossain Shanto made 146 and 124, Mominul Haque 121, and Bangladesh declared on 425 for 4 to set 662. Afghanistan were bowled out for 115. The 546-run margin is the third-largest in Test history, behind only England's 675 over Australia in 1928 and Australia's 562 at The Oval in 1934.
