England and Zimbabwe have faced each other in 7 Test matches, the first in 1996 and the latest beginning on 22 May 2025. England have won 4 and Zimbabwe 0, with 3 drawn or ended without a result. The highest innings total England have made against Zimbabwe is 565, against Zimbabwe's best of 376. The lowest completed innings are 147 and 83 respectively. The first Test between the two, at Queens Sports Club in December 1996, produced a result unique in the format's history. Chasing 205 in 37 overs, England finished on 204 for 6 - the first Test to be drawn with the scores level. England's coach David Lloyd told reporters afterwards that his side had flippin' murdered 'em, a remark that followed him around for years.
England have won every completed Test between the two since. Zimbabwe have never beaten them in the format, and the two did not meet in a Test at all between 2003 and 2025.
That gap ended at Trent Bridge in May 2025, when Zimbabwe returned for a one-off Test - their first in England for 22 years - and lost by an innings inside three days.
