For a long time this was the fixture that told Bangladesh where they stood. Zimbabwe won the first four Tests between 2001 and 2005; Bangladesh's first-ever series win in the format came against them at home in January 2005, and they have shared the honours almost exactly since.
Mushfiqur Rahim owns the batting here - 219 at Mirpur in November 2018, still the highest score by a Bangladesh batter in Tests, and 203 at the same ground in February 2020. Brendan Taylor made five hundreds for Zimbabwe, including 171 at Harare in 2013.
Taijul Islam's 8 for 39 at Mirpur in October 2014 is the best innings return by any bowler in the fixture and the best by a Bangladesh spinner in Tests. Zimbabwe's most recent success was at Harare in June 2026, by an innings and 85 runs.
